RESPONSE TO NRC BULLETIN 88 POWER OSCILLATIONS IN BOILING WATER REACTORS Nuc1sar Regulatory Commission Bulletin 88-07. Power Oscillations in Boiling Water Reactors, dated June 15, 1988 requires Consumers Power Company to ensure licensed operators and Shift Technical Advisors are thoroughly briefed on the LaSalle power oscillation event and to verify the adequacy of procedures, instrumentation and training programs regarding initiation, avoidance, recogn-ition and response to uncontrolled power oscillation events. The bulletin also requfres written confirmation that the required actions have been completed and implemented.
In accordance with the bulletin, we have completed all of the requested actions. Documsntation for our evaluatien of the adequacy of procedures, training programs and instrumentation will be maintained on file at Big Rock Point for a period of at least two years. Action items we identified as a result of the verification review have been implemented.
