Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit 2 (THI-2)
Operating License No. DPR-73 Docket No. 50-320 NRC Bulletin No. 88-05 and Supplements 1 and 2 NRC Bulletin No. 88-05 and Supplements 1 and 2 address nonconforming materials supplied by Piping Supplies, Inc. (PSI) of Folsom, New Jersey, and West Jersey Manufacturing Cortpany (WJM) of Williamstown, New Jersey.
The following provides a surrnary of actions taken in response to NRC Bulletin No. 88-05 as of August 3,1988.
1.
GPd Nuclear has determined that we have procured no material directly from PSI or WJM for THI-2.
2.
All known GPU Nuclear QA-approved suppliers of fittings and flanges from whom material was procured during the specified timeframe were contacted by letter and recuested to review their records to determine if they had supplied any PSI or WOM material to TMI. The 128 suppliers can be divided into three (3) categories:
A.
GPU Nuclear primary suppliers; B.
Suppliers identified in NRC Bulletin No. 88-05 excluding those identified in Category A; and C.
GPU Nuclear secondary suppliers (small number of orders).
In Category A, there are seven (7) suppliers. Responses from two (2) of the suppliers provided sufficient basis for a determination that a spot checx of procurement records would suffice. For the remaining five (5) suppliers, a 100% review of records was performed.

The responses received from the Category B suppliers (13) did not identify that any PSI or WJ4 material had been supplied. A spot check of procur-aent records was in progress with three (3) of the 13 suppliers completed when tEC Bulletin 88-05 Supplement 2 was issued.
Category C includen 103 suppliers; tespon'?s were received from conroximately 40%. Those suppliers who N:j not responded by Augtit 3,1988, were riar insible for h limited number of orders.
