ACTION: Advance notice of proposed rulemaking:
Extension of coment period.
SUMMARY
- On May 22,1988 (53 FR 13776), the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Comicsion (NRC) published for public coment an Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPR) i related to the regulation of uranium enrichr:ent facilities.
The coment period for this ANPR was to have expired on July 21, 1988.
By letter dated July 26, 1988, the U.S. Departinent of Energy (00E) requested a ninety-day extension of the coment period. The principal reason given for the request for extension was that the DOE's review is not complete, and additional time was needed to provide detailed Coments.
In view of the DOE's high interest in the rule, its experience and knowledge of the subject matter, and the likelihood that the additional coments will be helpful for development of a proposed rule, the flRC staff has dec'ded to extend the coment period for an additional ninety days. The extended coment period now expires on October 22, 1988.
