Report Month April, 198d NARRATIVE

SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCES At the beginning of the month, the unit was operating at 100% power.

On 2 April, a scheduled power reduction to 85% was conducted to perf orm turbine valve and excess flow check valve testing.

Power was returned to 100% after the testing was completed.

On 12 April, power was reduced to 92% during the recovery of a dropped CEA and then returned to 100%.

On 29 April, power was reduced to 76% due to a malfunction in the Section 377 transmission line.

The plant utilized this power reduction to perform turbine valve and excess flow check valve testing.

Power was returned to 100% later in the day.

At the end of the month, the unit was operating at 100% power.
