SUBJECT:

Quad Cities Station Operating Report, NRC Dockets 50-254 and 50-265

Dear Mr. Davis:

Enclosed is the radioactive effluent report for June through December, 1987 for Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station.

The following information was requested in a letter from Thierry H. Ross, Project Manager, dated October 2, 1987.

1. The Quad Cities PCP should identify the criteria that determines when the cement system or the Dow system is to be used.
2. The PCP should reference the Dow system as described in the Dow Chemical Company Topical Report, EHS-RSS-001, stating any deviation and/or exception taken from the Dow Topical Report approved by NRC.

The Dow system has been removed and is not discussed in revision 5 of the Quad Cities Station PCP. The revision was submitted with the July-December 1986 effluent report. The 5th revision states that the contractor solidification services are utilized at the station for wastes which are required to be classified as stable waste per 10CFR61 and/or burial site licenses.
