NRC INSPECTION REPORT 50-016/98007(DNMS)
Dear Mr. Gipson:
During the period September 9-11,1998, the NRC conducted an inspection of activities at your
Enrico Fermi Unit 1 facility, with an emphasis on decommissioning activities. The enclosed
report presents the results of the inspection.
Activities in the areas of facility management, decommissioning support, industrial safety, and
radiological safety were examined during the inspection. All activities inspected were found to
be in compliance with the Administrative Controls and Surveillance Procedures Manual.
Two concerns were identified. One related to activities for assuring the accuracy of the scaling
factors determination for the waste streams. The other involved adequacy of the air sampling
volume for asbestos monitoring. These issues are described in detail in the inspection report.
