NRC INTEGRATED INSPECTION REPORT 50-271/98-11

Dear Mr. Maret:
On August 29,1998, the NRC completed an inspection at your Vermont Yankee reactor
facility. The enclosed report presents the results of that inspection.
During the six week period covered by this inspection period, the routine operation and
. maintenance of the facility were conducted in a safe manner. The investigation of a main
steam pressure control system anomaly during this period was well controlled and an
appropriate level of caution was observed in activities with the potential to challenge
safety related systems. No violations or safety concerns were identified during the
conduct of this inspection.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter
and its enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
