Dear Mr. Perkins:

The director of the National Park Service is pleased to inform you of l our determination pursuant to the National !!istoric Preservation Act, as amended, and Executive Order 11593 in response to your request for a determination of eligibility for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places. Our determination ajpears en the enclosed material.

As you know, your request for our professional judgment constitutes a part of the Federal planning process. We urge that this information be integraced into the National Environmental Policy Act analysis and the analysis required under section 4(f) of the Department of tansportation Act, if this is a transportation project, to bring about th; best possible program decisions.

This determination does not serve in any manner as a veto to uses of property, with or without Federal participation or assirtance.

The responsibility for program planning concerning properties eligible for the National Register lies with the agency or block grant reci-pient after the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation has had an opportunity to comnent.

, .o-COMMENT SIIEET Property: Sites located on the Union Electric Company's Calloway Plant The documentation is being returned 'oecause the request for determination of eligibility did not contain a statement of the opinion of the Missouri State !!istoric Preservation Officer concerning the eligibility of these sites (see 36 CFR 63 XIII).

We recommend that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) follow the procedures under 36 CFR 63.3 and 36 CFR 800.4(c) and seek a consensus determination of eligibility and noneligibility with the Missouri State Historic Preservation Officer for sites identified in the Phase I s.- . For those sites where agreement can not be reachet, unen the NRC should forward specific documentation on each site to the Keeper of the National Register for a formal determination of eligibility.
