Gentlemen:

On January 6, 1988, we notified you via our report logged TXX-88034 of a reportable deficiency involving Service Water System water hammer and column separation at the inlet and outlet of the emergency diesel generator jacket water coolers which can occur subsequent to a service water pump trip.

Our last report logged TXX-88159, dated February 4,1988, provided a schedule for the completion of the corrective action for Units 1 and 2.

The purpose of this supplemental report is to status the implementation of corrective actions for this deficiency.

The installation of vacuum breakers in the Unit 1 emergency diesel generator jacket water coolers has been rescheduled for completion by September 2, 1988.

The completion schedule for Unit 2 will be prior to the start of the primary system cold hydrostatic test.

Very truly yours, b.b-W. G. Counsil By:
