EXPORT LICENSE APPLICATION XSNM02563 DATED AUGUST 31,1990 AND APPLICATION AMENDMENT DATED OCTOBER 15,1997
Dear Mr. Paggen:
This refers to your license application dated August 31 1990, our number XSNM02563, which requested a license to export low-enriched uranium to the Republic of Korea for the initial core loading in Ulchin Units 3 and 4 and your application amendment dated October 15,1997 which requested an end use change to Ulchin Units 5 and 6.
Since Ulchin Units 5 and 6 are not scheduled for commercial operation until June 2004 and June 2005, respectively, we would not anticipate receipt of South Korean assurances and Executive Branch recommendation until 2002 or 2003. We are, therefore, returning without action your export license application XSNM02563. We recommend that you reapply for the export authority in the year 2002.
