Dear Dr. Almond:
It was a pleasure meeting you during the April 7, 1988 Commission meeting on medical quality assurance rules.
I want to thank you personally and on behalf of my fellow Commissioners for your valuable contribution to the meeting.
Your extensive knowledge and balanced approach to the quality assurance issue will, I am sure, assist in providing improved regulations that better serve the public.
As a result of the meeting, the Commission has requested that the staff develop a more performance-based approach to the proposed medical quality assurance rules.
I also want to thank you as a member of the Advisory Committee on the Medical Uses of Isotopes (ACMUI), for your valuable advice to our staff on technical and policy matters related to the regulation of nuclear medicine and radiation therapy.
Your credentials and stature in the medical community, as well as that of your colleagues on the Committee, have served us well over the years.
You are providing a valuable public service.
Sincerely, M CV.
