FOLLOWUP ON FERMI 2 OSTI INSPECTION - AITS N0. DRP 05 Based on discussic.n> oetween you and R. C. Knop, we understand that DRS will followup on a sample of the OSTI team findings.

Specifically, DRS will review the corrective action system, management quality overview, and committee activities as identified in the OSTI report involving items such as:

The DER process Performance based QA ISEG effectiveness OSR0 committee review Safety Evaluation:

It is also requested that DRS perform a surveillance program inspection that centers on how effectively the licensee has provided proper management attention to assure appropriate implementation.

2 The licensee has completely revamped the I&C procedures. Because of past l

1, problems in this area an inspection is requested.

These inspections are considered a priority 2 on the 5 priority scale. These inspections should be I

completed prior to the end of August,1988.
