SUBJECT:
CRGR REVIEW OF THE YEAR-2000 AUDIT PLANS As you are aware, CRGR review of the Year-2000 (Y2K) Audit Plans was scheduled in early September before the Y2K audits were to begin on September 14,1998. However, this review was cancelled at the request of NRR managers and with their assurance that: (1) these are audits and not inspections, (2) thece is no associated enforcement provision, and (3) no new requirements are being imposed; hence, there is no backfitting. The Committee, however, expects that should there be future staff proposals to impose new requirements, revise existing position (s), or establish new Y2K compliance criteria, they, and the associated inspection guidance, will be submitted for CRGR consideration, cc:
