DOE BRIEFING ON LSS In your letter dated July 29, 1988 to Barbara Cerny, you requested a briefing i
on present and planned activities for development of the Licensing Support System.
It is nty understanding that a meeting will be arranged for the end f
of September or early October.
I would be most appreciative if you would protide the details of the meeting such that nty staff could also attend.
I anticipate that HMSS, and the Division of High-Level Waste Managenient in particular, will be the primary user of the LSS prior to and possibly after the l
hearing activities start. My Office therefore has a major interest in matters related to the LSS and would like to be kept inforud of developments, correspondence, and meetings. Meetings with DOE, the license applicant, that involve programatic matters related to the High. Level Waste program must follow i
DOE.NRC procedural agreements. Accordingly, I suggest that such meatings be coordinated through Robert Browning, Director, Division of High. Level Waste Hanagement.
