SUBJECT:

COMANCHE PEAK - STATION SERVICE SYSTEM Yb Texas Utilities Generating Company management has notified us that they are experiencing problems associated with the Station Service Water System.

Since this system has been turned over to operations for approximately six years and has been operational for this interval of time, we believe that it should be dispositioned by your group rather than be handled as a CPRT issue.

The problems identified to date with this system involve:

1.

Isolated " bubbling" of the Placite internal piping liner.

2.

Pipe erosion in the piping to the Corponent Cooling Water Heat Exchangers as a result of water turbulence.

3.

Instrument pipe weld failure at the pump discharge.

4.

Diesel Generator jacket cooler erosion. -

5.

Diesel Generator jacket cooler piping water henr.er.

6.

Pinhole leak on service water inlet piping to Safety Injection Pump leak oil cooler.

7.

Other problems currently being identified by TUGC0 personnel.
