Dear Mr. Vargas L
1 This letter provides the status of Philadelphia Electric Company's activities related to Items 3.1.2 and 3.2.2 of Generic Letter 83-28.
The referenced letter stated that the one-time vendor manual update program had been completed, and that by August 31, 1988 we would provide a schedule for incorporating the appropriate vendor i
guidance from the prog;am into the station procedures and Technical l
Specifications.
This letter provides that schedule.
We apologize f or the delay of this submittal.

It is anticipated that the appropriate procedure I
revisions will be completed by November 30, 1988.
l The new Diesel Generators manual was issued in August 1988.
A preliminary review of a draft copy of the new manual against the l
Diesel Generator procedures was conducted and the procedures were found to be adequate.
A comprehensive review of the final issued manual against the Diesel Generator procedures will be performed and it is anticipated that any required procedure revisions will be completed by January 15, 1989.
Because all safety-related Technical Specification test and I
maintenance requirements are implemented by a procedure, the procedure bb0 77 C
l
Mr. Steven A. Varga, Director S2ptGmber 1, 1988 Page 2 review in progresa also constitutes the check of Technical L
Specifications required by the Generic Letter.
To date, no discrepancies between vendor manual updates and the Technical Specifications necessitating Technical Specification revisions have i
been identified.
4 In a related matter, we wish to advice you that the list of l
vendor manuals transmitted with the referenced letter included three General Electric manuals on page six that are not safety-related and, thus, were not within the scope of the one-time vendor manual update program.
The manual numbers are M-2-363-12, M-2-371-2 and M-2-372.
We regret this error and any inconvenience it may have caused you.
