Operating License No. DPR-50 Docket No. 50-289 GPUN Response to Inspection Report (IR) 87-09
"'ho purpose of this letter is to revise a commitment f rom our Atgust 25, 1987 letter in response to Violation B from IR 87-09 which listed GPUN's long term planned actions regarding the makeup filter cubicle contamination event.
Our letter stated that the makeup filter 2A/B Cubicle interior would Lc decontaminated and repainted.
From the photographs that had been taken earlier, the paint appeared to be cracking and flaking.
However, following doccatamination of the cubicle, the paint was found to be in goed Londition.
Therefore, GPUN does not intend to repaint the makeup filter 2A/B Cubl.cle interior at this time.
This change was discussed with the TMI-1 Senior NRC Resident Inspector who requested that this change to our commitment be noted in a letter.
