SUBJECT:
REQUEST FOR ORGANIZATIONAL FUNCTION CHANGE-HEALTH AND SAFETY
Background:
By letter request dated August 6, 1985, Kerr McGee has advised of changes to realign their organizational structure in order to maintain required activities in their health and safety program.
The requested changes have been considered to be an administrative amendment.
Discussion:
The Corporate Staff Health Physicist, who had responsibility for performing health and safety overviews for Sequoyah Fuels operations, retired from the -
Kerr McGee Corporation.
Kerr McGee has proposed that the above responsibility be assigned to the Senior Staff Environmental Specialist, who has been responsible for the health physics program at Kerr McGee's West Chicago Rare Earth Facility.
Based on Kerr McGee's decommissioning program, it is our evaluation that the.
proposal changes do not materially alter the previously approved health physics .
program.
Conclusions and Recommendations It is concluded that the revised Kerr McGee organization and administrative controls provide adequate coverage for Sequoyah Fuels' Cimarron Facility.
Approval of the amendment to Materials License Number SNM-928 is recommended.
