M biptsW February 21, 1986 Trojan Nuclear Plant Docket 50-344 License NPF-1 Mr. Hugh L. Thompson, Jr., Director Division of PWR Licensing-A Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington DC 20555

Dear Mr. Thompson:

Generic Letter 85-08 and Electronic Transmission of 10 CFR 20.408 Termination Data Generic Letter 85-08 and the follow-up letter of November 18, 1985 from K. R. Coller presented a request for transmission to the NRC of 10 CFR 20.408 termination reports (worker radiation exposure histories) by either NRC Form 439 or electronic transmission with a standardized data file layout. Portland General Electric (PGE) is implementing an in-house, computer-based record system for occupational radiation exposures associ-nted with the Trojan Nuclear Plant. As part of this record system, PGE plans that all 10 CFR 20.408 termination data that are prepared after January 1, 1987 will be transferred to NRC by the Electronic Transmission Pilot Program with the data file layout of the November 18, 1985 letter that is referred to above.

In accordance with this Generic Letter, PGE requests a waiver from the 30/90 day time limit for reporting terminations to the NRC. All 10 CFR 20.408 termination data associated with the Trojan Nuclear Plant that are prepared af ter Jannary 1,1987, will be clectronically transmitted to the NRC in batches on a time frequency not to exceed six months.
