Dear Dr. Chung:
We have reviewed LLNL Monthly M nagement Letter No. 20, dated A)ril 4, 1988, that sumarizes progress under FIN A-0297 for the month of Marci 1988.
Progress to date appears to be satisfactory. We have the following comments:
The sumary reports on your review and evaluation of DOE's CDSCP for the NNWS1 site and of NRC's DGTP entitled "Guidance for Determination of Anticipated Processes and Events and Unanticipated Process and Events" have been received and distributed to the appropriate NRC staff.
Your coments on the CDSCP were incorporated into the draft point papers that have been transmitted to the DOE.
John Trapp is considering your coments in his revision of the DGTP.
As we stated in our response to your Monthly Management Letter 19, any further work on the Amarillo-Wichita Uplift report must be accomplished at LLNL's expense. We do not feel there is' sufficient justification to consider that the neotectonics associated with this feature merit the expenditure of NRC funds budgeted to study the neotectonics of the Yucca Mountain geologic setting.
The action taken by this letter is considered to be within the scope of the i
currentcontract(A.0297).
No changes to cost or delivery of contracted services and products are authorized.
