PUMPS REQUIRED FOR MULTI-UNIT OPERATION AND COLD SHUTDOWN I
.On June 16, 1995, TVA submitted TS Change 360 to revise TS to allow the TIP system to be considered operable with less than five TIP machines operable.
This change would allow the data normally supplied by the inoperable TIP anit to be supplied by l
either substituting data from traverses of symmetric TIP l'
locations or using normalized TIP readings calculated by the on-line core monitoring system.
l On December 30, 1997, TVA submitted TS Change 395 to remove an I
identified non-conservatism concerning the number of RHRSW L
pumps required for multi-unit operation.
This change also
\\ i) proposed to reduce the number of RHRSW pumps required to be l
operable after a unit has been in the cold shutdown condition l

n On July 14, 1998, NRC issued Amendment Nos. 234, 253, and 212

to. Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-33, DPR-52, and DPR-69

and 3 respectively.

. Improved Technical Specifications (ITS) (TS Change 362).
Based on NRC approval of TS Change 362, TVA no longer requires l
the approval of TS Change 360 and TS Change 395.
The purpose l
of this letter is to withdraw TS Change 360 and to withdraw the portion of TS Change 395 which affected the BFN Custom Technical Specifications.
Note that the ITS portion of TS Change 395 was approved by NRC in the July 14, 1998 license amendments (TS Change 362),
