Dear Mr. Bowling:
The NRC has completed its review of your responses to NRC Generic Letter (GL) 97-05, " Steam Generator Tube inspection Techniques." The focus of GL 97-05 was to verify that licensee steam generator tube inspection practices were consistent with existing regulatory requirements and plant licand. g bases. Northeast Nuclear Energy Company submitted responses to this GL l
on March 10 and 11,1998, for Millstone Units 2 and 3, respectively, that included a description and technical basis for all inspection techniques used to size the depth of steam generator tube degradation at each plant. The NRC staff's review of your responses did not identify any concems with the steam generator tube inspection techniques emploM 9t Millstone that would indicate you are not in compliance with the current licensing basis for & ',
