RESPONSE OF THE STATE OF VERMONT TO JOINT MOTION OF NECNP AND THE COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS FOR LEAVE TO FILE LATE-FILED CONTENTIONS The State of Vermont, participating as an interested state pursuant to 10 CFR 2.715 (c), urges that the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board grant the above motion and admit each of the contentions filed by the New England Coalition on Nuclear Pollution and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts on August 15, 1988, fer the reasons set forth in said contentions and the motion and argument accompanying them.
Admission of these contentions will assure thorough ind proper evaluation of the proposed spent fuel pool expansion, and will thereby facilitate protection of the health.and safety of the citizens of Vermont.
