l Contract No. NRC-04-96-060 Modification No. 9 Page 2 of 2 The purpose of this modification is to (1) increase the ceiling of the contract by $714,404.00 from $1,922,619.91 to $2,637,023.91 to accommodate a within-scope change for performance of Option Year 2 and Optional Task 58 in accordance with the contract statement of work as modified by the attached, and the Contractor's technical proposal dated August 28,1998, as revised September 4,1998, hereby incorporated, (2) provide incremental funding in the amount of $50,000.00, (3) incorporate the Contractor's plan for consolidation of the TRAC codes (developed under Task Sa) by reference into the contract. Accordingly, the contract is modified as follows.

i Under Section B.3, " Consideration and Obligation - Cost Plus Fixed Fee," paragraphs a, e, and f are deleted in their entirety and replaced with the following in lieu thereof:

The total estimated cost to the Govemment for full performance of this contract is $2,637,023.91 of which the sum of $2,459,902.90 represents the estimated l

reimbursable costs and of which $177,121.01 represents the fixed fee.

The amount presently obligated by the Government with respect to this contract is $1,782,488.00.

It is estimated that the amount currently allotted will cover performance through November 2,1998."

Section F.6, " Duration of Contract Period (MAR 1987), Attemate 2 (MAR 1987),"is hereby deleted in its entirety and substituted with the following:

Statement of Work - Revision No.1 Contract NRC-04-96-060, Modification No. 9 for Option Year 2 and Optional Task SB Maintenance of TRAC-BWR Thermal-Hydraulic Simulation Code for Reactor Transients The objective of this contract modification is to implement changes to the statement of work for performance of Option Year 2 and Optional Task 58. The changes to the statement of work follow.

Option Year 2 Task 1 A decrease in the level of effort for this task is required based on the fact that the current number of TRAC users is lower than estimated at initiation of the contract. (See " Level of Effort.")

Task 2 No changes.

Task 3 A decrease in the level of effort for this task is required based on the fact that the current number of TRAC users is lower than estimated at initiation of the contract. (See " Level of Effort.")

Postpone all developmental assessment activities until Option Year 3 Delete implementation of the One-Dimensional Kinetics Model and Decay Heat Modelinto the TRAC-'M code.

i Period of Performance The period of performance for Option Year 2 is changed to commence September 23,1998, and expire on October 1,1999.

Level of EffoIt Estimated reduction in the Task SB effort is 9 staff-months Estimated reduction for Task 1 and 3 is approximately 4 staff-months.

The estimated level of effort for Tasks 2 and 4 remains unchanged.
