JOSEPH M. FARLEY NUCLEAR PIANT UNIT 1 NARRATIVE SID9tARY OF OPERATIONS January, 1986 There were no unit shutdowns during the month of January.
A significant power reduction began on 1-3-86. Power was reduced to approximately 38.5% of rated thermal power due to a high sodium level in the Unit 1 steam generator blowdown. After the sodium level was reduced, the Unit returned to full power operation on 1-6-86.
The following majcr safety-related maintenance was performed in the month of January:

E Prgvent Recurrence 001 860103 F 0 A 4 N/A KIl FCV Power was reduced to approximately 38.5% due to a high sodium level in the Unit I steam generator blowdown. The high sodium was caus'ed by a valve failure in the Unit 2 Water Treatment Plant during seccndary regeneration.
. Tne sodium level was reduced by feed and bleed process and the valve was repaired and the unit was returned to full power operation.

UNIT 1 NARRATIVE SIM4ARY OF OPERATIONS January, 1986 There were no unit shutdowns during the month of January.
A significant power reduction began on 1-3-86. Power was reduced to approximately 38.5% of rated thermal power due to a high sodium level in the Unit I steam generator blowdown. After the sodium level was reduced,'
the Unit returned to full power operation on 1-6-86.
The following major safety-related maintenance was performed in the month of January:

- 1. Miscellaneous-corrective and preventive maintenance was performed on diesel generators.
