BRIEFING ON KEY LICENS3 NG jISSUES ASSOCIATED WITH DOE SPONSORED ADVANCED REACTOR DESIGNS, 2:00 P.M.,
TUESDAY, AUCMST 9, 1988, COMMIS-SIONERS' CONFERENCE ROOM, ONE WHITE FLINT NORTH, ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND (OPEN TO PUBLIC ATTENDANCE)
The Commission was briefed by the staff on the key licensing issues associated with the Department of Energy's development of advanced commercial reactor designs.
Subsequent to the briefing, the Executive Director for Operations wrote to the Department of Energy (DOE) requesting clarification of DOE's position on certain aspects of the advanced reactor designs submitted by DOE for review by the NRC staff.
Pending receipt of a response to the EDO's letter, the Commission decided to defer additional followup tasks of the NRC staff at this time.
