SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT 50-298/98-05
Dear Mr. Horn:
From July 12 through August 22,1998, an inspection was conducted at your Cooper Nuclear
Station reactor facility ' The results of this inspection were discussed with your staff. The
enclosed report presents the scope and results of that inspection.
During this inspection, we noted generally good plant operations and several examples of good
performance in resolving problems. We also noted, however, a number of examples of weak
. problem resolution, mostly associated with problems of small safety significance.' We noted
.
continued emphasis on improved performance and encourge your efforts in this key area.
Should you have any questions concerning this inspection, we will be pleased to discuss them
with you.
