Dear Mr. Murley:
The NRC staff has requested additional information concerning our application for a license amendment, documented in reference (a), to increase the storage capacity of the spent fuel pit racks at Byron Station.
The additional information requested at the July 12-14, 1988, meeting is contained in the attachments.
The following list describes those documents.
1.
Sargent & Lundy Report No. SAD 522. Rev. O, March 1988, "Dynamic Multi-Rack Analysis of Spent Fuel Racks in Byron-Braidwood Fuel Pool - a Two dimensional Analysis."
2.
Additional discussion of rack stability regarding an installation where not all of the new racks are installed, i.e.,
a partial pool installation.
3.
Several tables, in the format of the St. Lucie Technical Evaluation Report (TER) tables, summarizing the factors of safety for the pool and the racks.
In addition to these tables a write-up describing the contents of the summary tables is provided.
