hold an open meeting on September 27-28, 1978 at 1717 H St.,

1 Washington, DC 20555 to review:

1) a draft of Regulatory Guide 8.JB,

" Radiation Safety Training at Nuclear Power Plants," 2) certain aspects of l

emergency planning, and 3) the NRC Research Program on Radiological Effects for the annual ACRS Report to Congress.

In accordance with the procedures outlined in the Federal Register on l

October 31,1977 (42 FR 56972), oral or written statements may be presented by members of the public, recordings will be permitted only during those portions of the meeting when a trenscript is being kept, and questions may be asked only by members of the Subcommittee, its consultants, and Staff.

Persons desiring to make oral statements should notify the Designated Federal Employee as far in advance as practicable so that appropriate arrangements can be made to allow the necessary time during the meeting for such statements.

The agenda for subject meeting shall be as follows:

Room 1167 at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 27, 1978 until conclusion of business.

Room 1046 at 8:30 a.m., Tnursday, September 28, 1978 until conclusion of business.

The Subcommittee may meet in Executive Session, with any of its consultants who may be presant, to explore and exchange their prelimi-nary opinions regarding matters which should be considered during the meeting and to formulate a repor t and recommendations to the full Committee.

At the conclusion of the Executive Session, the Subcomittee will hear presentations by and hold discussions with representatives of the NRC Staff, and their consultants,' pertinent to this review. The Sub-committee may then caucus to determine whether the matters identified in the initial session have been adequately covered and whether the project is ready for review by the full Comittee.

Further information regarding topics to te discussed, whether-the meeting has been cancelled or rescheduled, the Chairman's ruling on requests for the opportunity to present oral statements and the time allotted therefore can be obtained by a prepaid telephone call to the Designated Federal Employee for this meeting, Mr. Ragnwald Muller, (telephone 202/634-1413) between 8:15 a.m.
