50-296 BROWNS FERRY UUCLEAR PLANT (BFN) - AMPACITY EVALUATION PROCRAM PLAN - REVISION 1 By my letter dated June 24, 198a, TVA submitted BFN's ampacity evaluation program plan, revision 1.

Attachment of that plan was inadvertently excluded from the submittal. By this letter ws ce forwarding a copy of revision 1 which includes that attachment. Also, to aid your review, changes in the ampacity evaluation-program plan from revision 0 are denoted by vt.:rtical bars in the margin of the enclosed revision 1.

Ac stated in my June 24 letter revision 1 supersedes revision 0 submitted January 25, 198G. Revision 1 incorporates the results of the April 26 meeting at BFN between TVA and NRC.

Specifically, the program plan was updated and presently reflects a 40 year full life, as opposed to reduced life of unit 2 safety-related cables and describes a modified approach to verification of the V3 cables. A summary statement of commitments contained in this submittal is provided.

Since this item,is schedule sensitive, TVA is proceeding with its implementation, concurrent with your tion of the safety evaluation-report.

TVA will be glad to discuss this fith you.

Should you have any qw,.+1ons, please telephone M. J. May at (205) 729-3570.

Very truly yours, TENNESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY h.
