Docket No. 70-7001 Monthly Update on Progress of Seismic Upgrades to Buildings C-331 and C-335
Dear Mr. Pierson:
By letter dated April 15,1998 (see the refsrence), USEC committed to provide a monthly update on the progress of the installation of the seismic upgrade modifications to Buildings C-331 and C-335 beginning May 15,1998.
The enclosure to this letter provides the progress ofinstallation of these modifications through August 31,1998. The enclosed summary schedule shows that cell floor utility relocations are slightly behind schedule due to an additional scope ofwork that has been identified. However, it is expected that this slippage can be made up and completion of the cell floor utility relocations will be in accordance with the schedule. Cell floor steel installation is currently behind schedule in both buildings with the greatest variance in Building C-331 (approximately two months behind). USEC is evaluating the schedule slippage to determine the impact on the June 30,1999 completion date.

. USEC will discuss this issue with the NRC after the effect on the completion date is determined.
