Operating License No. DPR-50 Docket No. 50-289 Confiration of Item in Preventative Maintemnce Program for Reactor Trip Breakers GL 83-28, Item 4.2.1 By letter dated December 12, 1985, the NRC issued a safety evaluation report on the GPUN response to item 4.2.1 (Preventative Maintenance Program for Reactor Trip Breakers) and item 4.2.2 (Maintenance and Trending) of Generic Letter 83-28.
The response to item 4.2.2 was found acceptable. For item 4.2.1, confiration of the inclusion of the measurement of the undervoltage trip device roller rivet-armture clearance in the energized position was requested.
TMI-l Preventative Maintenance Procedure E-36, Rev.13 (Electrical) Control Rod Drive Trip Breaker Check, Step 6.5, requires the clearance between the rivet and the armture of the undervoltage trip device to be measured.
Measurements are mde with a feeler gauge.
The clearance is to be relatively constant for all armture positions which includes the energized position. A range is specified and the as-found and as-lef t clearance is recorded on a data sheet.
