Dear Adninistative Judges:
In Licensee's January 7, 1986 Answer to the petition by TMIA for a hearing on Technical Specification Change Request No. 148, Licensee stated that it was hopeful of a Staff determination on the change request in time for the scheduled March 1986 shutdown for eddy current testing.
This is to inform the Licensing Board that it no longer seems likely that the Staff will be in a position to act on the change request in that time frame.
The next shutdown for eddy current testing following the March shutdown is planned for December 1986.

It will not affect the pendency of the current Change Request No. 148.
Whether the new change request will be placed before an Atomic Safety and Licensing Board, and whether a prior hearing would be required, will depend upon whether a request for hearing is filed and upon.the Staff?s determination of significant hazards consid-erations.
In any event, we will keep you informed of any such submittal.
