SUBJECT:
MEE11NG WITH THE SOUTH TEXAS PROJECT TO C0hT1 HUE THE SSAT 1hSPECT10N PROCESS.
The Safety Significance Assessement Tea.- (SSAT) conducted a site inspection during the week of January 18. 1988 to determine the safety significance of allegations received from the Government Accountability Project. Some of the questions raised by the allegations required further information from the licensee, with the actual source of the information being Westinghouse.
Subsequent to a telephone conference on February 5. 1988. the licensee was requested to travel to NRC headquarters to present the required infonnation The meeting took place in Room 8 8 11.
The meeting resulted in the following action items on the part of the licensee to provide:
(1)
Additional information and justification of the settlement monitoring program.
(2)
Additional information on the reactor vessel inter-nals analyses.
(3)
Additional justificaiton regarding reactor vessel flange waviness.
(4)
Aoditional infonnation regarding main steam, main feed ano auxiliary feed piping in relationship to the steam generator.
(5)
Adcitional information on the relevance of the Asko analyses to STP.
(6)
Acditional infonnation regarding weld fit-up of the main icop piping to accomodate steam generator tilt.
(7)
. Additional information on timing of the develop-ment of the stiffness matricies with respect to the stress analysis (8)
Additional information on core barrel deformation as a result of the leoge waviness.
(9)
Accitional infonnation regarding affect of steam generator tilt on leak-before-break analysis.
(10)
History on out-of-tolerance on presurizer hug.
