Box 756 ' Port Gibson, Mississippi 39150 SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT 50-416/98-12 Dear Mr. Eaton: From August 17-20, a routine radiological environmental and meteorological monitoring programs inspection was conducted at your Grand Gulf Nuclear Station reactor facility. The enclosed reoort presents the scope and results of that inspection. l t The inspector determined that the radiological environmental and meteorological monitoring programs were effectively implemented. A concern regarding the 1997 Quality Assurance Audit of the radiological environmental monitoring program is discussed in Section R7.1 of the enclosed report, , in accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR).
