Cha.irman United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D.C. 20555 Deat Mr. Zech:

I am writing at this time to express the concerns of the Board of Selectmen in he Town of Scduate in the matter of any planned reopening of he Pilgrim Nuclear Power Plant in .the Town of PLjmouth.

Our concerns are two-fold with the first being the fact that an evacuation plan is not in place. We have been given to understand that Seltuate is considered a secondarij shelter community, however, no formal notification to titis effeet has ever been received. Secondttj, a health study on the incidence of Leukemia in the area of .the piant is undeluvay and we feet that, in the best interests of our residents, ne data from uat study should be in hand before ant) consideration to the reopening is planned.

Any consideration witich the Regulatory Comnission may be able to ettend to Scduate's concerns will be much appteciated. The reopening of the Pilgrim Plant ef fects aLL of he residertts of the Sou.th Shore, however, Scituate's ptoum<,ty magnifies nose effects and we are most grateful for your considera. tion during the decision-making process toastd restatt.
