Dear Mr. Loftus:
i This letter is in response to Stanislaw Piorek's letters dated April 19,1998, and June 17,1998, previding additional information in support of Metorex's application. In order to continue our evaluation of the SIPS Probe, the following needs to be addressed:
1.
Due to the portable nature of this device, it is may be possible for the device to fall (or be dropped) from heights greater than 1 m (3.3'). Furthermore, the device could fall on to a harder surface than carpet. Therefore, please provide information (e.g.,
results of prototype testing) that demonstrates that the device would maintain its integrity after a drop from 2 m (6.6') on to a concrete floor.
2.
Please explain how it was determined that the device would be expected to withstand the expected vibrational loads during normal use. Please do so by providing any information concerning vibration testing of a prototype unit.
3.
Please indicate the difference between " locking" allen head screws used to fasten the probe together and regular allen head screws. In doing so, please verify that access to i
the sources is restricted by use of tamper-resistant hardware.
