PROPOSED Il! POSITION CF CIVIL PENALTY - $300,000 This is to inform the Consission that a Notice of Violation and Proposed imposition of Civil Penalty in the arount of Three Hundred Thousand Dollars
($300,000) will be issued today (April 28, 1988) to Baltinore Gas & Electric Ccrpa ny. This action is based on violations of the equipment qualification requirements of 10 CFR 50.49. The staff submitted this action for the Commission's review as part of SECY-88-104.
Via memorandum dated April 27, 1988, the staff was informed that the Consission had no objection to the issuance of the proposed action.
The State of Maryland will be notified.
The licensee has thirty days from the date of the Notice in which to respond.
Folicwing NRC evaluation of the response, the civil penalty may be remitted, mitigated, or imposed by Order.
