MEETING SUMMARY - SYSTEMATIC ASSESSMENT OF LICENSEE
PERFORMANCE
Dear Mr. Horn:
This refers to the meeting conducted at the Cooper Nuclear Station (CNS) on September 3,
1998. This meeting discussed Systematic Assessment of Licensee Performance (SALP)
Report 50-298/98-99.
During this meeting, the NRC presented a summary of the CNS performance assessment for
the period of January 12,1997, through July 11,1938. Included was a summary desniption of
safety performance and specific insights relative to each functional area. CNS perse/inel
]
commented on each of the functional areas to include the corrective actions being undertaken
'
in response to the Board's findings. The meeting attendance list and briefing slides are
enclosed,
in accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10, Code of
Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room.
