CONFERENCE CALL CONCERNING IMPLEMENTATION OF AMERICAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEER'S (ASME) CODE CASE N560 AT VERMONT YANKEE NUCLEAR POWER STATION (TAC NO. M99389)

Dear Mr. Maret:

On August 26,1998, a conference call was held between members of the Vermont Yankee staff,and the NRC staff to clarify your request to implement ASME Code Case N560 at Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station. Following the call, Mr. Wayne Limberger of your staff provided information including a summary of the conference call. The information provided is enclosed.

We understand that you will provide the enclosed information relating to qualification of NDE .

examiners for Code Case N560 inspections and the Vermont Yankee N560 Selection Process to us formally in a submittal to the NRC. We request that you notify us if this is not correct.

Please note that, although it was agreed that your staff wouid provide draft minutes of the

conference call, draft information is not invited or generally accepted by the NRC staff. Draft information received will be placed in the public document room unless il meets the exemption f categories of 10 CFR 2.790.
