OVERVIEW This annual summary report follows the format used in our monthly monitoring reports.
During 1985, discharges were made from all discharge paths.
Appendix 1 contains a list of non-routine reports sent to the Staff during 1985.
SUMMARY
OF MONITORING PROGRAM A.
Monitoring of Plant Influent and Effluent Appendix 2 contains a summary of the monthly volumes from discharge pathways and both tabular and graphical summaries of the monitoring results previously reported in monthly reports.
B.
MonitoringEThceivingWaters 1.
Ecological Studies at Diablo Canyon Ecological studies in accordance with the Thermal Effects Monitoring Program (TEMP) (Provision D.4) continue. The annual report of the TEMP program will be submitted to the Board with the Provision D.4 a and b progress reports.
2.
Sediment Analysis Annual sediment samples were collected on September 26, 1985.
Results of analysis were presented in the October report.
3.
Aerial Photography of Kelp Beds Aerial photography (infrared film type 2443) of kelp beds in the vicinity of Diablo Canyon were taken February 13, July 1, and October 23, 1985. Color transparancies of the photos were submitted to the Staff in the respective routine report.
4.
Surf ace Water Temperature Measurement of surface water temperatures is not required until commercial operation of Unit 2.
5.
Stratified Water Temperatures Stratified water temperatures were measured in February, June, and October, and submitted to the Staff in the respective routine report.

pH and Dissolved Oxygen of Receiving Wt _rs Monitoring of pH and dissolved oxygen in the receiving waters was accomplished in February, June, and October, and reported to the Staff in the respective routine report.
7.
Incident Light Measurements Subsurface light was measured continuously beginning in July and reported to the Staff in the September and December reports.
8.
In situ Bioassay Results of the Mussel Watch program will be reported to the Board directly from the California Department of Fish and Game in their periodic report for this program.
