Dear Mr. Russell:
We are in receipt of your letter dated July 13, 1988, regarding our letter to you of July 8, 1988 and our letter to Chairman Zech dated July 7, 1988 concerning the participation of the Commonwealth in the Integrated Assessment Team Inspection of the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Plant scheduled to commence on August 8, 1988. I appreciate the additional information you have provided about the upcoming inspection.
We are still awaiting a reply from Chairman Zech and will continue to press for greater participation in the IATI than current plans provide for.
Nevertheless, this is to assure you of our intention to participate in the IATI in accordance with the existing N.R.C.
protocol.
I plan to represent the S.L.O.
at the entrance and exit interviews, and Mr. Steven Sholly of MHB Associates will be the designated observer of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
A copy of the inspection protocol signed by Mr. Sholly has been forwarded to Region One staff under separate cover.
