DPR 42 50-306 DPR 60 Supplemental Information for License Amendment Request Dated July 5,1988 Best Estimate LOCA Analysis The purpose of this letter is to supplement our July 5,1988 License Amend-ment Request submitted for the Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant.
Attached for your review is a revised Appendix K calculation required by the NRC Staff draft Safety Evaluation Report for the UPI Best Estimate Methodology Program.
This calculation differs from the calculation in Exhibit E of our July 5, 1988 License Amendment Request in that a return to nucleate boiling, after reaching the critical heat flux, is prohibited during blowdown.
An amendment application fee is not required by 10 CFR Part 170 since a fee was included with the July 5, 1988 submittal.
