SUBJECT:
DRAFT PROPOSAL FROM ILLIN0IS FOR AMENDED AGREEMENT IMNS has received, for comment, a copy of the draft proposal from Illinois.
The proposal expands Illinois' regulatory authority to include the extraction or concentration of uranium or thorium for its source material content and the possession, use, transfer, and disposal of 11e(2) by-product material.
The proposal is, of course, targeted for the Rare Earths Facility in West Chicago.
However, the proposal covers all aspects of uranium mill operations.
For this reason, we felt LLhM may want to comment on the proposal.
Enclosed is a copy of the complete package.
IMNS has the lead, but would appreciate any coments you may have.
If LLWM has any comments on the draft proposal, please provide them to Merri Horn, Mailstop 6-H-3, by August 19.
In addition, would you please provide the name of the LLWM contact to Ms. Horn.
