Dear Mr. Larsen:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulat >ry Commission (NRC) staff has reviewed your submittals dated May 13,1998, and July 2,1998, in response to NRC staff's January 9,1998, and February 9,1998, comments on the Final Status Survey Report (FSSR) for Phase ll -
Subarea J. We are satisfied with your response and have no further questions regarding the Subarea J FSSR. However, before we can amend the license to remove the Subarea J property from the license, we will perform a confirmatory survey of Subarea J. We are planning to have NRC Headquarters and Region IV staff conduct the confirmatory survey during the week of September 21,1998.
For more effective use of our resources, we would also like to conduct other survey activities, if appropriate, at the Cimarron site and at the Cushing site during the same staff visit to the sites.
Depending on the progress of our reviews of your FSSRs for Subareas F, O, or L, we may be able to conduct field work related to these subareas.
