(Shoreham Nuclear Power Station, Unit 1) April 18, 1988 C0NFIRMATORY

_ MEMORANDUM AND ORDER The Board confirms herein decisions announced during a telephone conference with the parties involved in the Shoreham emergency planning proceeding. The conference was requested by LILCO on April 18 to consider a motion to temporarily suspend scheduled depositions pending evaluation of a forthcoming LILCO motion which allegedly could be dispositive of a hearing on the realism issues. After considering views submitted in letters of April 15, 1988 from counsel representing Intervenors and LILCO and the comants made by the parties in the telephone conference today, the Board orders the following:

1. The Board denies LILCO's request to suspend depositions scheduled for this week on grounds that a Board denial of the forthcoming LILCO motion could cause a delay in the hearing schedule.
