SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLAST (SQN) UNIT 1 - NRC BULLETIN 88-02, RAPIDLY PROPAGATING FATIGUE CRACKS IN STEAM GENERATOR TUBES

Reference:

NRC letter to TVA dated July 22, 1988, "Safety Evaluation Report for TVA's Response to NRC Bulletin 88-02 (TAC R00327/R00328) - Sequoyah Units 1 and 2" The Westinghouse Electric Corporation analysis report requested by NRC in the referenced letter is not available to TVA at this tirce.

The report was not scheduled to be generated until after the unit 2 analysis, which will be performed following the unit 2 cycle 3 refueling outage. A proprietary and nonproprietary version of the reports could not be prepared in time to submit to hRC before the scheduled restart of unit 1.

The report will be provided to hTC when it becomes available to TVA.

because the final report is not available at this time, TVA is providing additional information separate from the final report as requested by NRC. provides a description of the analysis performed on unit 1 and a description of the computer code used.

Also included is a summary listing of the critical tubes and plots of the relative stability and stress ratios.

The summary statement of the commitment contained in this submittal is provided in enclosure 2.

Please direct questions coricerning this issue to Kathy S. Whitaker at (615) 870-7748.
