Panoramic Radiography Exposure Device DESCRIPTION:
The Model CRC 120A radiography device is a modified version of Cumberland's Model 120 device which allows the use of a Cumberland Model A source assembly and also allows interchange of controls with the Automation Industries' Model 100 device.
l The modifications consists of; 1) extending the outer shell of l
the acasmbly by 5/8" (15.9 mm) to protect extended fittings from damage, 2) using a slightly thicker lock box pad to accommodate the larger Model A source assembly, 3) enlarging the internal l
sleeve of the coupler adaptor to accommodate the ball on the Model A capsule assembly, 4) changing the thread size of the j
snout and outlet plug, and 5) providing a swivel fitting on the l
drive control tube whereby the Automation Industries' drive control can be used.
LABELINGt Same as Cumberland's Model 100 except Model CRC 120A substituted for Model CRC-120 on labels.

Essentially the same as Model 100 except that the words, "This unit is to be used only with the CRC Model A source," have been added to the cover page.

As of the effective date of this document, the Model 120A Panoramic Radiography Exposure Device is no longer manufactured and distributed by Cumberland Research Corporation. Cumberland Research Corporation's materials license expired on July 31, 1977 i
and the company is no longer in business.
This device was approved for licensing purposes by the Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) on September 1, 1971.
There is insufficient information on file for this device to perform a safety evaluation.
Therefore, this certificate is being reissued without further review based on the original review and approval issued by AEC.

background files only contained the registration certificate and NUDOCS only had licensing information.
Archive files form Oak Ridge contain original AEC registration, mostly just correspondence letters between AEC and CRC, a lot of engineering drawings, but little, if any, technicalinformation. Therefore, these certificates are being reissued without further review based on the original review and approval issued by AEC.
