MRC Mon'.hly Operations Summary Peach Botion Atomic Power Station March, 1988 UNIT 2 The unit began the report period shut down with the mode switch in the "REFUEL" position and vessel depressurization in progress following the completion of the reactor pressure vessel hydrostatic test. On March 1, the mode switch was placed in the "SHUTDOWN" position, resultily) in a planned scram. Restart activities continued through the end of the report period.

UNIT 3 The unit began the report period shut down for refueling. Major activities during the report period consisted of the removal of major pipes on the Residual Heat Removal System and Reactor Recirculation System p1 ping, and the removal of all ten recirculation inlet (N-2) nozzles and both recirculation outlet (N-1) safe ends. As of the end of the report period, three of the N-2 nozzles and one of the N-1 safe ends had been replaced.

The spent fuel pool storage capacity has been relicensed for 3819 fuel assembiles. This modification began on February 20, 1987. The completion date for ihis modification has been rescheduled foe February, 1989 to accommodate the Unit 3 pipe replacement outage.

March,1993 (reserve full cort. discharge cannot be accomunodated after the restart following the completion of the October, 1987 refueling outage until the completion of the new fuel racks)

Installation of the new fuel racks will extend the projected date of the last refueling to September, 2000 (March, 1996, with reserve fullcoredischarge)
