Gentlemen:
In accordance with the requirements of 10 CPR 50.71(e), Commonwealth Edison hereby submits Revision 4 to the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UPSAR) for our LaSalle County Station. Units 1 and 2 have a comon FSAR and, therefore, this revision contains information for both units.
The UFSAR has been prepared in accordance with guidance approved by the May 9, 1980, Federal Register Notice and Reference (a).
Consistent with that guidance, this UFSAR revision has been retained in the original FSAR's format or content to conform with the recommendations contained in Regulatory Guide 1.70.
Comonwealth Edison has made every effort to identify all relevant information for this revision including modifications to the facility as described in the UFSAR that have been made since the last submittal (Reference (b)). In our judgment, the UFSAR accurately reflects the as-built condition of the plant as of October 17, 1987. All changes requiring NRC approval have been reviewed by the NRC and all others have safety evaluations on site to document the station's determination that prior approval was not required.
